The Center on Innovation in Learning (CIL) presents the first in a series of six webinars featuring state experts.

CIL's new Getting Better at Getting Better modules and resources on change leadership and the change process were introduced with the first of a series of bi-monthly webinars for state teams interested in developing a culture of innovation to improve learning. CIL has developed this series based on seven years’ of experience implementing Indistar in 22 states, and the modules are now being offered for both Indistar users and non-users alike.

CIL education specialist Lois Myran facilitated the first webinar, Getting Better Together—Coaching. During this initial webinar, staff from the Georgia State Department of Education—professional learning specialists Andrea Cruz and Christy Jones and division program manager Joanne Hooper—presented an overview and answered questions about their state’s coaching experiences. In addition, Tammy Mitchel, school improvement coordinator for the Kansas State Department of Education, Michele Hayes, director of the Kansas Learning Network, and Elbert Harvey, director of school improvement for the Arkansas Department of Education, answered questions about their states’ coaching programs.
